Octopus AI joins Google for Startups

Octopus AI has been selected for Google for Startups Immersion EMEA. We're now working with Google engineers to bring the latest AI technology into Octo, the AI teammate for accommodation operators.

What does the Google selection mean for operators?

It means Octo gets built alongside Google engineers, with the newest AI going straight into the product operators use every day. We move fast, and what we learn goes into Octo so your team gets the benefit.

What does an AI teammate for accommodation operators do?

Octo takes the repetitive work off your team across reservations, guest services and back office tasks. It answers guests in seconds, 24/7, across email, phone, WhatsApp, web chat and SMS, in more than 30 languages. It takes bookings, handles amendments, handles out-of-hours issues, checks guest IDs, and more.

Think of Octo as the teammate who never clocks off. The enquiry that lands at 23:40, the guest with a problem at 2am, the ID check before an early arrival: Octo picks each one up as it comes in, day or night, so your team starts the morning with the repeat work already done. It works the same for a hotel, a serviced apartment block or a corporate housing portfolio with no one on site.

Do you stay in control of an AI teammate?

Yes. Octo follows the rules you set, such as rates, minimum stay and refunds. When a guest has a complaint, a refund request or a judgement call, Octo hands over to your team with a summary and the full transcript. You can read any conversation as it happens and take over whenever you want. What is an AI teammate? explains how that differs from a chatbot, and Human Handoff shows the handover in detail.
